Before I started working on this stuff, I was focusing on http://metameso.org/files/unstable-arxana.pdf.
I also did a variety of things related to mathematics: http://metameso.org/~joe/math/.
- 2010 Q1 - The full prospectus is at http://metameso.org/~joe/docs/prospectus.pdf
- 2010 Q1 - Etherpad widget
- 2010 Q1 - GravPad mockup
- 2010 Q2 - Tech survey
- 2010 Q2 - Ba-based design of goal system(s)
- 2010 Q2 - GravPad demo
- At around this point in time, I hope to attend a Doctoral Symposium that is part of WikiSym 2010; my 5-page application is presumably a good warmup for the Probation Report (see below), and provides a more straightforward Narrative than the colorful, nonlinear, multidimensional Prospectus.
- I've also posted a short (3-4 page) abstract of my Ph. D. work that gets at the ideas in yet another way. Here are the slides that the abstract turned into. I also prepared a dynamic poster.
- And here is another revision of that abstract, this time put a bit more in terms of specific deliverables I expect to be able to complete by September. And a second draft of the same. And a third draft. And a fourth draft (with some pictures).
- I submitted this abstract to Wikimania 2010. The proposed talk was accepted, so I did end up speaking there. I revised the notes from the talk into a blog post, and I'm hoping I can turn them into a paper...
- Note that we'll be doing a "MetamesoMigration" this quarter (well, at least my files are moved!).
- Here are some Random Notes from OU - 2010 Q2
- 2010 Q3 - Survey apres ROLE
- 2010 Q3 - Survey paper on data management
- 2010 Q3 - Position paper on freedom in computing and learning
- Note that at this point in the program, I'm required to submit a "Probation Report", basically a grant proposal that will secure my funding here through the end of 2012. This report will be more linear than the "Prospectus" -- less of a survey/assay and more of a "motivating narrative for a given work plan". Speaking of which, it would be useful to see if the outline of topics below matches up with the topics in that plan, or not. (I'll probably use my magnet board for that.
- Created a new "code homepage" for myself at http://holtzermann17.github.com/ (using Github Pages).
- In order to keep the treatment in the probation report light, I'd like to turn my thoughts about Sensemaking into a short paper I can just cite.
- Spent August and a bit more time on the continent, working on Rudel, Planetary, and ROLE stuff. A pretty phenomenal experience that will lend some concreteness to my plans from here on out.
- 2010 Q4 - Describe relevant activity patterns
- 2010 Q4 - Review models, ontologies
